The aging population is growing and families are searching for solutions including housing for their seniors who want to remain in their homes and not go to an institution. There are numerous possibilities available for positive solutions that need consideration before making important decisions.  It is best to make these decisions in advance of a health issue demanding quick decisions!

Designing solutions make good sense.  With these design options, planning with a budget and how to implement them makes even better sense! Remodeling bathrooms, as is usually the case, to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers for use of toilet and showering needs, is typically high on the "To Do" list. Researching remodeling contractors for design/build options including the costs has huge benefits.  This is a smart move.  And it is time to face reality about the aging issues in advance.

Obvious changes include no area rugs in traffic pattern areas.  Non slip flooring is a must. Grab bars are important. Good lighting for reading and ambiance are easy fixes. Upgrading the home with materials, plumbing, lighting, HVAC, insulation, window and door replacements as needed are just some of the areas to be considered for safety and comfort. Did I mention NO STAIRS?

Staying at home is possible and preferrable.  Make it a WIN WIN with a home that accomodates aging well!

A perfect solution for creating a classic home design from a company of seasoned professionals who have come up with an affordable way to rebuild in an Old Town setting or create a new urban community of timeless classics! Click on this link and review the numerous plans that are offered!

WOODHOUSE Timberframe

Great solution for a home at less than 2,000 sq, ft. and can be shipped and placed on your ready foundation. The team at WOODHOUSE partner with you and your builder to make this a reality!
Endless possibilities for exterior finishes to create the ideal look for urban, rural or resort living!

Nestled in the woods on a sloping lot, this popular cabin plan is charming!  The finishes are wonderful with wood garage door featuring arched windows and the same accent stain finish on the entry door and window trim adds the appropriate design detail. Perhaps you think these details are minor but they are major in creating this appeal! The classic color combination of graphite gray and golden tan and roofing material blending in with the siding color gets raving reviews!

KOHLER Plumbing

Great idea for wheelchair accessibility

Here is another great place to check out. ElDorado Stone does not need a foundation to put up like real stone. No weight issue so makes it convenient for interior or exterior design.

This is a great place to start looking at the possibilities for outdoor living! I love nanawall

Tiny Homes a popular trend in 2019

What is all of this enthusiasm for Tiny Homes?  Obviously because they are efficient, affordable and that is enough.  With the cost of housing becoming a national issue for many Americans, the Tiny House concept has taken off.  Why go in such debt for housing?

Smaller spaces make sense.  They work.
